Gay men held to a different standard?

Why do some gay men get way with inappropriate behavior in the workplace? By inapporpriate I mean that they throw tantrums, bitch and complain, and argue with customers. If you are paid to work, don't act like you can't be bothered to do your own damn job.

If you were enjoying the fact that there were no customers in the building before I walked in to use one of your copiers or rent one of your computers, that's too fucking bad. That doesn't mean you act like a little bitch about doing your job. Show some respect or go away.

If you have a job that requires assisting customers on the phone, be courteous. Do gay men even know what this means? It means if I feel like asking a question twice about my cable service, you don't get all pissy about it. If I feel the need to ask a question three or four times to make absolutely certain that you or your fellow service representatives know what you're doing, then that is what I'll do until I feel the question is answered to my satisfaction.

It is not your place to verbally object. If you want that sort of privilege, then you'll have to find another job. You may think of yourself as a Queen, but that is not what you really are. You're a stooge just like every other $6-per hour loser.

It's also you're job to close the call with "Is there anything else, sir? No? Glad I could help, bye." It's not up to the customer to sign off, it's yours. Awkward silences lead the customer to believe that he/she has to keep talking, and it is a sign that the service rep on the other end is an inconsiderate prick.

And just because you're gay, doesn't mean you can't get knocked the fuck out for calling a woman a bitch. See that thing between your legs? You're still a guy. This means that you owe women the same courtesy that all other men do.

And I have to add that I do not mean to say that all gay men are like this. I just had a pretty heated argument today, and I'm still pissed.

Ha ha - love that part. I'm glad you added the part about it not being all gay men, but while you're at it why don't we add pretty much any 'oppressed minority' or anyone else that knows they can get away with whatever they want because the threat of a discrimination suit will keep them out of any trouble. Honestly, for most of us if we acted like that at a job we'd be fired so quick not many customers would see us to get pissed off. But stand up and scream "I'll sue" with a suit that they know will tie them up. . . you win.

That part came from a particular incident involving a gay receptionist joking with my sister and using the word "bitch" freely. There are many women who wouldn't use that word even in a humorous manner with their friends. But I guess it's supposed to be "cute" when a gay kid does it.

Yeah, every group, regardless of color and sexual preference, has its jerks.
