Conen, a 7-month-old joey koala, receives some tender, loving care from his keepers at the San Diego Zoo Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in San Diego. Four times a day, the zoo's animal care staff bottle feed Conen after learning that his mom had stop producing milk and could no longer provide the proper maternal care. Although he is being hand reared, the joey koala who weighs about 480 grams or 17 ounces, will continue to remain with mom for the next two to three years. The San Diego Zoo is home to more than 30 koalas, the largest colony outside of Australia.
