Sam, do you want Bearnotes.com on it?
if I get them printed, how many would pay 12-14 bucks for one?

ok, so here's what I'm thinkin for the front, but I'm not sure what to do on the back yet. Yeah, the roman letters I had to make myself, the aren't really sharp, cause I'm not an artist, but if anyone else can do better, LET ME KNOW.
K, I got the idea for the back, but it won't display it, maybe I did it wrong, sam, you wanna help me on that? (from Sam --> images larger than either 500 wide or 2000 tall get linked instead of displayed, I made it smaller dave)

I, Sam, promise to buy one tee at 12-15. Size = XL. I know, I said two, but I thought about it and since I have to pay rent and shiot, I better just get one. But I will take care of it!
As an aside, does anyone think visa will get pissed off if we use the whole "priceless" thing. I think a political party in some useless state used it once and got in trouble.

), I put up flyers this morning in several buildings.
I am excited about the shirt! Thanks for taking the initiative dave.
Ha, anyone read the standard? I think we should fundraise a freaking computer with spellcheck for them.

Enough other people mock it I think it'll be okay. Besides, what will they do? Come take our . . . . hmm. . . . most of us have nothing of value, we're COLLEGE STUDENTS!Sam wrote:As an aside, does anyone think visa will get pissed off if we use the whole "priceless" thing. Anyway, I'll take one too dave. 2X - I hate when the XL's shrink after a washing. This is still assuming they'll be in the $12 - 15 range - find out about that! Anyway - you all know where I work, so feel free to deliver it to the help desk

i like the shirt idea, i really do.
but, as much as i'd like to do so (trust me, i'm not much of a fan of the "greek life"), i'm not so sure that it's a bright idea to be openly upsetting people in a public place by wearing a shirt that basically explains to a potential [frat brat/sorority (expletive)] how the owner believes that they're indeed that stereotypical as to be paying for a set of materialistic friends...
it may *cough* or may not be true. regardless, i'd much rather have someone share a laugh over the "go roman" mockery than tell me to go fuck myself over the message on the back of my shirt. cuz all that would do is light me up. and you can mock someone without sending a negative message.
i'm definitely liking the go roman thing with the characters. damn clever.

I kinda agree... maybe just the front... the back is absolutely true, but the front is a quiet mockery, and most frat boys sorrority girls won't understand the Roman thing. Maybe just the fronts, you know the history professors will fall over laughing, besides the shirts will be cheaper.
BTW, I'm not wussing out, I'm just.. being less abrasive...
You guys all cool with that?

One of my friends works at a t-shirt shop and possibly could make sures (> 6) for about $6-7 each. If you're interested I can get more info from him.
I'm still trying to decide if I want a shirt or not...

Paco, are you a fan of public stonings, and if so, would you like to be the target?
There are way to many greek on campus do this, if you want yers to say it, I'll get one or two printed with both sides, but I'd never sell any except to you and all the guys in the Cheek computer lab, it's dangerous, ya see.

Just wanted to throw my .02c in because...you know...that's what I do. I think you actually CAN get in trouble from the University for wearing derogatory t-shirts. I remember a few years back (gee must have been like 4 years now) some girls worse some anti-marching-band shirts around campus that said "f#$% the Pride" (Sam will understand this) and they ended up having to write an apology letter to the band and maybe other things...I don't know.
BEYOND THAT...personally I think that there's a signifacant difference between making a sly humorous joke at the expense of others and being a dick. Everyone understands that negative stereotypes regarding Greek life, this shirt isn't really saying anything clever that hasn't been said before. The Go Roman thing is more intelligent, more subtle, and to those who understand it, just as effective. On the other hand, I am a firm believer in not cowering in your beliefs because you are affraid of what other people will think of them. Still I say the front alone is a better idea because jokes are always funnier when they're about people who don't understand them!
Just my 2 cents.
=8=
BTW, what's the word on the pricing...$12-15 or $6-7?

What the heck is that supposed to mean? You got a problem with the guys in Cheek? (BTW: I don't technically work 'in the labs' - our offices are just in there)solid_dave wrote:. . . .but I'd never sell any except to you and all the guys in the Cheek computer lab. . . .
Anyway - I'm okay with just the front - I guess the whole derogatory argument was pretty pursuasive - and while I'm not worried about what the greeks say - I want to be able to wear the shirt at work! As for the design though - how about something mimicking this years "Go Greek" shirts? They're yellow and you're seeing them all over campus - just a thought since the current design is mocking the shirts from a couple years ago.
