Televised courses...

Post by HatePirate »

Hey. I'm in a bind with registration right now, and I'm considering taking a few of those courses aired on tv. Anyone taken any of those? Heard anything? Recommend or no? I'm just looking at a basic easy class like History 121 or Mythology.

I took Mythology, it was sort of hard, but as long as you keep up with the reading & the lectures then you should be fine. It's sort of hard to force yourself to watch the lectures, but just make sure you do it. If reading is more your thing, then the CD-Roms have the lectures transcribed, so you can just read them instead of watching.

I also took Hero & Quest with Larry George, which I enjoyed a LOT more than Mythology, it wasn't as difficult.
If I could I would shrink myself and sink through your skin to your blood cells and remove whatever makes you hurt but I am too weak to be your cure.

Probly because Larry George enjoyes making things easy... When I took Hero & Quest with him, it was generally something to the effect of "Guys, you all didn't do so well on the test. So here! Correct your answers!"

P.S. from what I've heard of the TV classes, they suck. It's a pain to keep up with the lectures. I know I don't have the self-motivation to accomplish it.
