Bush or Kerry?

Post by SAM_from_CHINA »

hi everybody
i'm a college guy in China, and i've seen the first and the second presidential debates online, wandering who's gonna win the election.
i don't like Bush cos' i hate goddamned wars, but Kerry seemed not wise enough to win the race.
What's your opinion?
And in America,is everybody entitled to a chance to vote?

Bush will win, liberals will whine, we'll get another Michael Moore movie, and a bunch of hippies will make another push for the democratic candidate in 2008.

As long as you're an American citizen over the age of 18, and have not been disenfranchised for "participation in rebellion or other crime" as defined by the 14th Amendment, then yes, you may vote.

As for war being good or bad, nobody agrees that war is a good thing. The question is whether war is necessary.

In this case, the U.S. responded to an attack by al-Qaeda, and in the process liberated two countries and freed fifty million people.

Afghanistan just this past Saturday held their first elections in which over ten million people registered to vote, 41% of them women. Iraq has peace in 15 of 18 provinces, and is on schedule to hold elections in January of 2005.

As for who will win the election, we'll just have to wait and see. Although many may side with a particular candidate, it's our duty to support the acting commander-in-chief, regardless of who that individual may be.

Take care.

I'd hope that'd be it. But more likely than not, they probably have a "Lights Out" for everyone. At a specific time, the electricity gets shut off. They don't care WHAT you're doing, period.

Well, let me explain that to you.
As in most universities in china, there is a certain "LIGHTS OUT" time,10:30, when the electricity is cut off in our dormitory.

Man, that's not just lights out, that's heat out, a/c out, no coffee, no computer, nothing. If I was you, I'd grab an F1 visa, move to the U.S. and attend a school here.

Are you all tired of Kofi Annan yet?

Once you get into a university here, we'll not only give you visa, but Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and every other tool you need to become incredibly broke.

Before you get too busy whining about being broke, remember one thing: We have a first amendment, you don't. Tiananmen Square ringing any bells with you? Now be a good boy, and submit to authority.

I don't need to submit to authority.
I perfectly know that my country is far from being relly democratic for the time being, but the situation here is far better than you could ever imagine.I know English and i have Chinese as my mother tongue and have Russian as my my major,so I can read news from these countries, gaining a rational sense from it that things are said very differently by their media or government.
I appreciate difference ,but hate confrontation.
I hope the words I've written and will write here could give you guys a vivid picture of a REAL CHINA, the REAL SITUATION we're in, and the REAL thoughts and culture we cherish.
