Oakridge Properties sucks!!!!!

It so frustrating.
First I don't even get the apartment I was guaranteed in the beginning. We had to look at other ones b/c that one was not completely remodled like they promised it would be for me to move into.
Than the apartment I do get stuck with had no fire detector, the toilet didn't work in the half bath and the sink drips not to mention the dishwasher melts all of our dishwasher safe dishes somehow. It took my roomate threatening to bring the fire marshal by to check out the place before we got a smoke detector and the toilet fixed and yet her sink still drips.
Than they won't do anything about the people next to us playing their music way loud and being loud themselves at all hours of the night and they stole my chairs and the office did nothing about that.
Now my roomate has guys leaving notes on the door for her and they won't do anything. The most they could do is fine us for getting out of our lease early or making us pay a $100 fee to move to another one of their rundown apartment complexes.
Looks can really be decieving b/c this place looked good when we first looked at it. They said the were renevating the place and all the apartments would basically be brandnew inside.
They also tried to charge a couple of extra late fees on me that I had to go down and talk to them about twice. They really do try to cheat you if they think they can get away withit. My advice is don't ever rent a place with them and if you do, get a signed document for every conference you have with them b/c they will say one thing and do another, and there isn't a whole lot you can do unless you have documentation.
They own lots of different places around Springfield. The main one I know is Sunshine Terrace but if you here the words Oakridge Properties run as far and fast as you can.

I'm not saying all apartments. Infact the one that I'm moving to is an incredible place. Believe me I've done my research. They belong to the same company that Sam lives in and had such great comments on. Its just the spacific apartment i live in right now.

I want to jump up and warn people once again that Oakridge Properies sucks. They are a bunch of crooked folks trying to make a quick buck off the poor nieve people that live in Springfield. They are evicting many people out of their apartments with absolutely no good reason plus they just charged me $900 in liquidated damages after they moved people into my apartment 5 days later. Its completely rediculous and I just want to warn people to get as far away from them as you can.

it's in "damages", not contract cancellation fees or something like that? I thought they checked you out with a clean condition report?

Thanks...I was thinking about looking over at Chardonnay (which is run by Oak Ridge). But then I flashback to when they were pissed that I didn't meet their income requirement to move into Chardonnay. What do you expect? I'm a college grad with a crappy job looking for a better one...

But hopefully I will be looking for somewhere closer to campus in January when my lease runs out here.

Paco, it was Liquidated damages which were cancelation fees. Its fun b/c I walked in there and told her I wasn't paying a dime and unless she get the charges taken off I was going to sue her for many things. Pluss I was in BDU's and well she got everything taken care off so there are no more charges.

I don't see why they didn't let you in psycostich. They seem to let just about anybody in. They let me in with basically no job, all I had at the time was the many I got for weekend duty. They are just insane people.

Yeah, I'm already looking around to new places to live once my lease at my current place ends in February...just need to find something with easy access to campus, that's all.
