Censorship
I posted a few postings under Humor, and half of them were deleted by The_Red_Chimp, then he locked one of them and made a snide comment.
In my opinion, if he doesn't think a joke is funny, that's not a reason for deleting it or locking the thread. He should feel welcome to post a response as a user, but to abuse his moderator priviledges and stoop to censorship is inappropriate.
The humor forum was my idea, as a place to post jokes, comics and other humorous items without cluttering up the other forums. I'm not at all pleased to have half my posts removed. I'm also the one who recommended The_Red_Chimp as a moderator for that forum. Furthermore, for The_Red_Chimp to make a snide comment and then lock the thread before anyone can reply is completely ridiculous.
I realize that you may disagree with my opinions, and that you may disagree with what I find humorous, however to abuse your moderator priviledges and censor users on this board takes away from the overall quality.
Grow up and knock it off.

It's bad form to:it's generally bad form to simply post a picture without any sort of elaboration or comments.
1. censor posts without cause
2. delete posts without cause
3. edit posts to replace the content
4. insult users as a moderator
At this point I don't care what anyone's opinion of my posts is. TRC is out of line.

It's at this point that I'd like stop and reflect:
Whose account got hacked because he was post counting and being annoying? Oh yeah, not mine. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
At any rate.
1. There was a cause. Don't be an idiot.
2. There was a cause. See above.
3. My bad, I'll be sure to leave your original content.
4. If that were the case, then I'm sure there'd be some trouble with other mods on here, too. I am not some higher deity, I am a moderator on an internet messageboard. I am sitting behind a computer screen, just the same as you. To say that I should lose my soul and my ability to be a person as soon as my name turns green is out of line on your part.

Is that an admission of guilt?Whose account got hacked because he was post counting and being annoying? Oh yeah, not mine. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
The difference is other moderators post their opinions as users. You purposely abuse your moderator priviledges by delete posts, replacing content, and locking threats after you make snide comments. If that were the case, then I'm sure there'd be some trouble with other mods on here, too. Mr. Kerry, I presume?4. insult users as a moderator
Your abuse of moderator privileges, to wit deleting posts, censoring posts, changing content, and locking threads is insulting. Don't even try to make me sound like a hypocrite. How about you just knock it off now, and we can get back to BearNotes being a fun and enjoyable place for everyone?
I'm attempting to be nice, to post items of interest. How about you do your part and stop deleting, censoring, editing and locking posts?
Let's make this a fun place to be.

LOOK, YOU ARROGANT TWIT, JUST BECAUSE YOU POST SOMETHING DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT DESERVES TO STAY. YES, I DELETED YOUR POSTS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL ABOUT THE SAME THING.
If I made a thread about pizza, then I made another about pizza with pepperoni and another about pizza with mushrooms, then do you think they should all stay? No. Had I the option to merge threads, I would've done that. Unfortunately, I don't. I admit to being at fault in one instance, and that's editing your post to say "I like walruses" or something like that. I really should've just prodded you to stay on topic in that thread. If you take a moderator's actions as insulting, i.e. closing your stupid thread, then perhaps you'll think to yourself next time you want to post count++ and not post just a cartoon, but add a little extra to it, also.
Yes, I know it's hard at this point to figure out what to post, because we're trying to figure out what direction to take this in exactly. If every single thread stayed open and all the duplicate threads were all replied in and created again in some obvious effort to raise your post count, then there wouldn't be much purpose for having a moderated forum. I'm sorry no one has slapped you on the wrist for you inability to comprehend how to and what to post before, but it's pretty obvious that someone should.
And if the definition of hypocrite is saying one thing, then flipping around and saying another, then yeah, you were being a hypocrite, just like when you were a hypocrite about the suicide. Remember getting called on that one? You got pissy then, too.
You can throw up the "nice" facade all you want. You're essentially spamming with multiple threads to inflate your post count again, and it's annoying, to say the least. If you want to contribute, then contribute something that's going to spawn a little discussion or something, don't just post 16 threads from the computer lab and call it quits. The reason your cartoon thread is locked is because there's no content. It's just "A Cartoon" then a little cartoon. Ta da! What are we supposed to talk about? "o yah, that's gr8 man, i love cartunes." Even a little caption or something or an encouragement for others to post a cartoon or a macro along the same lines would've made the thread acceptable, but you obviously went to absolutely no effort to create that, and were rewarded justly.

That's your assumption. That is NOT my intention, no matter how you may choose to view it.You're essentially spamming with multiple threads to inflate your post count again.
Imagine that, posting a humorous cartoon in the humor forum. Once again, just because you personally don't think it's funny is not a reason to make a snide comment and then lock the thread before anyone else has room to comment. The reason your cartoon thread is locked is because there's no content. It's just "A Cartoon"
Forget it, I'm leaving.
Until the_red_chimp is removed as a moderator, I'm not going to post on BearNotes any longer. I've attempted to be nice, and have been insulted repeatedly. Postings that I've made, such as the volunteer opportunity, which have nothing to do with this situation have been used by the_red_chimp as a forum to continue his negative and insulting attitude.
I'm trying to contribute to the board in a positive manner by posting items of interest.
Two of my postings under national news included comments which I took time and effort to put together.
The humor forum was my idea as a means of removing congestion from the general topics areas, and it has been turned into the_red_chimp's personal kingdom. He's deleted my posts, edited my posts to include content which I did not write.
I'm sick and tired of the condescending attitude and the bashing, and I will not participate in a forum which allows moderators to act in such a manner.
I enjoy BearNotes a great deal, and would welcome the opportunity to come back. Please e-mail me at chreteau@yahoo.com and let me know when this issue has been resolved.
Take care.

Until someone delivers 5 large pizzas to my room, I too will not be posting anymore. HAHAHAChreteau wrote:Until the_red_chimp is removed as a moderator, I'm not going to post on BearNotes any longer. I'm not trying to defend everything Chreteau has posted. That would be irresponsible as I have not even seen (apparently) a lot of it. I do however have to agree with some of what's been said. What's up with locking threads? What's up with the snide comments about his jokes? Example to my point:
http://www.bearnotes.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=518
What on earth is wrong with that and why should it be locked? I have to agree, if that is the kind of thing that is going to be happening on this board we might as well not have it. As far as combining the Kerry stuff - well I don't even tend to read the politial posts, but if they're all related then it makes sense to join them, but just because it's all about Kerry doesn't mean they're all related. Again, just an opinion, as I haven't closely reviewed those posts.
