I thought in the state of Missouri only 1 party has to know if a call is being recorded. Alot of people just call their own house and listen to the message on thier answering machine.

I'm also pretty sure IP Relay calls aren't traceable. They won't take IP addresses from outside the US, but they still can't tell who's making the call.

If they have your IP address, all they have to do is do a whois lookup, then call your ISP, which will be provided from the aforementioned whois, and ask them who was assigned that IP at that time if you were on dial up, or who is on that IP always if you are broadband.

In short, it's traceable.

6. Are my calls confidential?
Yes. In accordance with the requirements set forth in the FCC Declaratory Ruling 02-121, all relay calls are encrypted using encryption of commercially reasonable quality. AT&T has implemented technology, security features and strict policy guidelines to safeguard the privacy of your relay calls and any customer identifiable information from unauthorized access or improper use. We will continue to enhance our security procedures as new technology becomes available.

Furthermore, it is illegal for a Communications Assistant to disclose the nature or content of your conversations to anyone at anytime. We do not keep any records of your communications. Typed conversations are automatically cleared at the end of each call. Once your conversation is over, it is over.

15. Can you tell me who is calling me on Internet relay?
No. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine who is calling or what number they are calling from.

16. Can you provide a transcript of a call?
No, AT&T does not retain such information as it is against relay regulations. We are not permitted to save/store/record any customer conversations.
This was taken from http://www.consumer.att.com/relay/internet/faq.html#15
MCI and Sprint abide by the same rules and regulations. You won't get caught and/or sued. There are no records of anything after you make the call except the message on their machine. :D

Yeah, I was wrong. If they don't keep records then none of the techno babble really matters.

If they delete all records and information regarding your call right after the call has been made, by the time the person complains, there is nothing anyone can do about it. The only thing you can do is block all incoming relay calls.

And just wondering, why are you so paranoid? I post something free, funny, and humiliating to others, and the first thing you say is, "They will find you. You will be sued. Lawbreaker! That's so illegal. Court! Court! Court!"
