A well written country song

Post by kevin_100 »

"One Jack Off" by Cledus T. Judd

I heard this song a few months ago, and I think this is a well written song. The song is catchy, and even though the song isn't supposed to be a serious song, it has a lot of truth in it. Cledus T. Judd says he is amazed at how well "One Jack Off" turned out. The way he talks about it, he can't believe that he wrote a song that good. From a songwriter perspective, there are those songs that just gets written by accident by being in the mood. The songs that I am most proud of that I write are the ones that I write on accident. I am just in one of those moods and I just happen to pick up my guitar and come up with one good line that goes good with a few chords and I am hook. I sit there thinking of more stuff that I think would sound good with that one line and fifteen minutes later, a song that I am proud of is finished and yet I have no idea how I done it. I just did it in pieces. It is kind of like doing a big research paper. You do a little research here and you do a little research there and a few months goes by and you have a really big paper. When you read the paper, you are like, did I write this? Also, it is like writing a computer program. You write a little code here and there and after a few months, you have a pretty cool working (sometimes  ) program. When you look at the code, all of it together looks so complex that you wonder if you really wrote it. Well, I have experienced that and according to how Cledus talks about his "One Jack Off" song, he experienced just that in this song. He wrote one line and kept thinking of more good lines that connected each one together and produced one hell of a song.

Listen to the song here if you haven't heard it.

I don't have very much bandwidth on that site. You can only download like 2 files per hour, so if it says that the site's bandwidth is zero or whatever it says when there is no bandwidth, just try back later in an hour.

What does everybody else think of the song?
