It's curious how moderators have powers outside their appointed forums. Almost like Paco introduced some sort of system without informing us. That's fine, though, as long as moderation is fair and just. FAIR AND JUST, I SAY!
Oh crap, won't anything that conflicts with a certain moderator's viewpoint be deleted while he (er, I mean "they") leave their worthless opinion (wheee!!!11!!1one!1)
Though seriously, I thought with a new owner taking over things would be better, and they wouldn't revert back to "OMFG I DISAGREE" and posts being deleted and people being banned for speaking out of turn. If the board is staying that way, we definitely need more 1950's red in here. Stat.
Curiously enough, more things keep happening, and the number of respectable gents (and lasses) seem to be dwindling. Moderation seems to based on friendship, rather than actual merit, making this seem more like a club for the kids who weren't cool enough to play anywhere else. (No, I'm not saying I want to be a moderator, and yes, I do think there are exceptions.) Not that everyone who is staff, for lack of a better term, is guilty of this, but I can think of some person(s).
Moreover, it's troubling that instead of trying to foster an environment of discussion, the main concern, well I haven't actually figured out what the hell you guys are trying to do, but it sure as hell isn't going to bring more traffic to your prebuilt corner of the web.
Yeah, the place is privately held, bravo guys, you made a phpbb board. I salute you for spending the 30 minutes it took to originally set this place up and the 20 bucks it took to make all the flyers around campus. But you're being dolts. So, delete this like you do everything else that criticizes you, or leave it and silently ban me like you did that last time. Honestly, unless you guys get some semblance of rules established for the rule enforcers, your going to find the actual population of this board dwindling even more. Being in charge doesn't mean you have to use that power everyday, and it certainly doesn't mean that you can constantly dangle an issue in front of someone, and then delete what they say when they respond. And for God's sake, if you are going to do that, edit your posts so you don't have 3 in a row that are responding to nothing.
That said, I'll archive this for the deletion, and I'll find a way to make it available soon. I'd hate to say this same notice meet the same fate as the last one because someone couldn't handle any sort of critcism.
And before you say that maybe this isn't the place, I'd point you kindly to the forum description here:
Talk about anything you want.
