C'mon Guys. . . how could you not know this old fairy tale? Maybe a little reminder:

Rumplestiltskin is the troll that offered to spin the straw into gold for the miller's daughter. His price for that (which was to save her life) was her first born child. When she had the child, he told her she had three days to figure out his name and he would let her keep the child.

Remember that name - for you shall one day too be forced to remember this name in order to keep your first born child!

(Or maybe not :P)

Here's a pretty good summary of the story:

Nothing wrong with it...it's just weird to me. I would look at you funny if you said that you hadn't heard of Little Bo Peep, or The Three Blind Mice, or Cinderella too.

Ok...and at what point in my conversation did you infer that I was indicating that Rumplestiltskin was not a common child's tale? Because, as I read back through what I wrote...I don't see even the slightest inkling of text that could indicate that.

Let me re-read one more time just for clarity:

"Nothing wrong with it...it's just weird to me. I would look at you funny if you said that you hadn't heard of Little Bo Peep, or The Three Blind Mice, or Cinderella too."

Yeah...sorry I just don't see it.

" The devil has told you that! The devil has told you that!" cried the little man, and in his anger he plunged his right foot so deep into the earth that his whole leg went in, and then in rage he pulled at his left leg so hard with both hands that he tore himself in two.
Rumplestiltskin kicks ass.

Uh, I think Rumblesplitsteel is the story of a little bear who steals a bowl of oatmeal from three little blond girls.

See, I know what rippleblimpskin is! :D
