Why are newbies so hated

Without making anyone angry or upset ive noticed a common trend in every thing that we as people do. Everyone likes to pick on the little guy,, not only that but give someone a little bit of power and they go mad. You know what im talking about the 355 pound mall/highschool renta cop who glares at you while picking thier ass. Or even the cashier at walmart who likes to give you a hard time. Is this what kind of people we want to act like.
So when you older guys or girls on here see some newbie make a mistake just let them know. Dont harass the poor kid. I got on this site out of complete bordome and its pretty funny, you guy/girls are pretty damn funny. But sometimes it feels like an online RPG where the newbies are killed by some lvl 50 ass who thinks its hallarious.
So what im saying I understand that you all have a set way of life going on here and that you have established your self on this site but unless they out right mouth you, why bother with us nobody newbs, noobs, or what evrer you wanna call us.
College is only 4 years for most every one ecspecialy if you plan on only attending sms. So some day the newbs will rule, unless you want to be that renta cop picking thier uderwear and going home to get on bearnotes when your 55. No offense to this site, cause i think its pretty damn halarious and helpful.

I totally agree with you! I wish we actually had more newbies...because frankly, there's not as many posters here as I would have hoped. But...because I like to be difficult...I'm gonna have to argue with that whole wal-mart cashier thing. I work at Wal-Mart...in the pharmacy, and I've worked fast food...and what I'VE noticed is that when you have a relativly low level job like that...it's the customers who tend to think that they're better than you. It's like...if you wear a name tag, then you're a piece of shit! I can't TELL you how many "discussions" I've gotten into with customers who thing they understand how insurance/pharmacies work better than...oh...say the pharmist who has 6+ years of specialized schooling. I have been working on my own philosophies of life...and one of them is that everyone thinks that they're better than you! I'm not a genius by any stretch of the imagination (as sammy...he knows) but the plain and simple fact is that...believe it or not...I actually DO know something about a few things here and there. Nevertheless, if you're wearing a bright yellow smock that says "how can we help you" on then to the world...you're a freaking dumbass. I don't mean to rant...but it pisses me off. I probably have a higher degree of education that 80% of the customers that come into the pharmacy...but I'm always wrong when we I say something that they don't like. I just don't get it!

I agree. Newbies should be informed when they make a mistake. For example, in your previous paragraph, you commit the commenticius fallacy. Therefore, you take 17 damage points and lose your "e" key.

To Alien8ed, I understand where your comming from with the whole bottom of the food chain job. I am a nurse tech at a hospital so in other words I whipe ass all night long and give bed baths. Not to mention i am basicly a endentured servant to the sick old people. ohh and another thing bout the bed baths i have never had to give one to a hot old whore, damn the movie slackers for getting me into this profession. Ive been bitched out on the phone by faimly because i cant tell them any thing due to Hippa and cused at for patients cause their enama (spelled wrong) hurt. So i get you on the whole knowing more than people, I was not refering to hard working people i was talking about the mouthy smartass stupid people.
Kerry sucks but Bush is a pretty good guy by the way. Atleast bush has never claimed to war hero. Who ever told Kerry to run on his war recored is an idiot. He goes to war gets a splinter in his ass heads home and mouths every one there. He betrayed those people in vietnam, so i agree Kerry is a worthless canidate.

I use the word jokingly. There are some messageboards where people will get belittled because they are new or their post count is less than 1,000. In that case I'm a newbie too, as my post count is unlikely to hit 100 by the end of the year.

It's taken me being on this forum for almost a year to get to 100. Of course...I go through stages where I won't visit for like...months (i.e. the summer.) And then I'll come back and post whore away. Yay postwhoring!

Speaking of...I think I've officially whored out every thread that isn't already considered "dead". And I only have 99 Posts. Damn. One more to 100. *goes off to find some place to whore his 100th post out.*

a message board is much like real life, it takes time to gain respect form you peers, and if you start out in a board complaining on the first post, people probably aren't going to lean in your favor (not that anyone did). We are a community open to knew ideas and people, that being said, most people on the board are extremely opinionated. Don't be offended or upset and us being blunt, thats the great part of being on a board, you get to dispense with the plesentries.

Past that, everyone is welcome here, and don't feel bad, just get in the Fray... Chimp did, and I salute him for it.

He means it has the same social structure. Think of it (sad as this may seem) as a High School Cafeteria setting.

You're an incoming Freshman and it's your first day. You have all your different cliques that have been there since before you showed up, so if you just go plop yourself down in a certain clique in the middle of their conversation without their knowledge, they'll probably bite your head off. You have to establish your position in the infastructure before you are considered "accepted" in a certain clique.

Just with the message board...a noob can't really just throw themselves into the fray and instantly expect to be accepted by the group. They have to work themselves into the message board's community and eventually they'll become an accepted member. And sometimes...if they're just an ass (like Truby), they get thrown out without another word.

I *heart* analogies.
