i didn't do so hot. i went in knowing i could easily make money, if not win it, because confidence is key.
my confidence was destroyed when i saw who i was sitting with on day 1--antonio esfandiari, john d'agostino, tom lee and amir vahedi. i didn't see any other tables as stacked as mine. i was in for a real schooling.
had i had another table and a few more hands to play i would have probably made it to day 2, though i don't know how much further i could have gone.
i was suck at that table due to the fact that they were breaking other tables as players were eliminated in other parts of the building first. there was 667 players on 67 tables, so they had to get everyone in one room first. as a result, even if my fateful hand with antonio esfandiari hadn't come down, i would have been stuck with these manic-aggressive players for at least a day and a half. so, i would have been pounded all day and night.
i did well given what i was dealt at times and missed a few opportunities, but overall i had a great time and got to watch a lot of good poker. i made a lot out there playing in side games.
if you want to read about it more... http://www.recpoker.com/article.php?gID=1&ID=493082 i posted a long story about it there.
in either case next spring or early this winter you'll see the world poker tour season premiere probably with this episode. it will be the best poker televised ever, i guarantee that much. look for me in the crowd behind the table with the 35 year old blond milf i sat with.
my trip to the legends of poker

You know what should be done? Someone should organize a small group of people who are interested in competitive poker, and then have game nights once a week or something. I've always been interested in competitive poker (black jack used to be my thing) but never really had anyone to play...just a thought!
