Solid Dave on movies

Post by solid_dave »

I personally didn't see quite a few of the movies that are supposed to be great this season. It's not cause I didn't want to, it's just because I'm poor.

That being said, I think it's unfair that some of the jackasses that have the money to spend on a movie ticket also feel like they are opinionated and inteligent enough to review a movie.

I've talked to a few people about M. Night Shamalamadingdong's new movie, The Village. Most people agree it's not Sixth Sense, but it's not a bad movie.

I got on a website to read reviews today. I would say that atleast three-quarters of the reviews had either this:

GOTHKILLERDEATHMAN68 rated this movie - - - - - :

This movie blows big donkey balls and wasn't scary at all. Waste of money.l

or:

PIXIEDUSTQUEENSPOILEDBRATCHEERLEADER16 rated this movie *****:

OMGGGG this movie is the BEST MOVIE EVER OMG OMG SOO SCARY GO SEE IT OOMGGG OMMGGGG....... GO TIGERS....

....

ok, it's fine that your parents give you 100 bucks a week to pacify you and keep you out of their hair. Don't ever get on a movie review website again. I can't count the number of posters I've seen that say "YOUR OPINION MATTERS". Yeah... your's doesn't, stick to cheerleading or dressing like worker on the Grim Reaper's Chain Gang. Quit reviewing movies so I don't have to wade through yer bullshit.

No movie is that terrible, or that good, except maybe the holiday classic Jingle All the Way, with the governator. It was pretty bad.
Coach Z: Hope you all enjoyed yerself in that last break, and Bubs, the Warm Cold Cuts was Great!

I agree with you. People shouldn't praise or flame a movie to the full capacity. It seems like, saying something sucks donkey balls is a cool thing to say among youngsters or older people (more men than women) who think they are some kind of high class pimp. But I guess the people that praises movies and flames movies are not the typical college student. It seems, once a person takes a college course, you learn how you should look at things. And that is, looking at both sides of an issue. Some students learn this before college. If you don't learn it before college, then you will learn it when you get to college or by the time you graduate because their are many smart college students that can over power a person's 100% praise or flame.

I watched a few new films this year. I really enjoyed "Bad Santa". Billy Bob Thornton was funny in it. I also watched "Waking Up In Reno" which is another funny movie with Billy Bob Thornton.

I haven't seen the unrated version of "Bad Santa" called "Badder Santa" but I'm sure it would provide a few more laughs than "Bad Santa".

If you was going to buy "Bad Santa", get the unrated version. You might as well get that one because after you watch the rated version, you will be wondering what the unrated version is like. I know I am. Twenty bucks is a wee bit too much to spend right now.

seems to me that murphy's law bites me in the ass whenever i get up, off of my ass, to pay to see a movie i havent read a review on. recently, it's been "hey, that looks pretty cool," only to be dissappointed by a dull show.

i usually read reviews or ask people if theyve seen something, in simple hopes of not wasting any more money or time than i already do by watching a potentially retarded film.

i think recommendations help somewhat, though several can get extremely subjective based on personal biases and things of the sort. so i'll usually ask someone whom i have something in common with what he or she thought of or thinks of a particular film. that way i'm not getting some bullshit nonsense flowing from the mouth of some random artsy-fartsy idiot who gets paid to watch movies and suck down slurpees all day long.

the last one i saw was bourne supremacy. i thought it was pretty cool.

couldn't have said it any better, tommy...

My dad has really shitty taste in movies. What an idiot.

Sometimes we replace his medication with Flinstones vitamins. He deserves it.
