What side is that for or against? Was it made by liberals to make conservatives seem stupid? Or was it made by conservatives who are annoyed that liberals don't want to obliterate cities and waste fossil fuels?

Btw, isn't this forum run a little tight for only having 5 people? Practically everyone's a mod and if you post twice in a row in a post that hasn't had any replies since September you have to go to a Japanese internment camp. I just don't think internment camps are the way to run a forum that most people show up at thinking they can get class notes that aren't for computer NERDS.

Second: Who shows up here thinking that it's for notes? If you want notes, post what class you want them for, and someone may be able to provide them. BearNotes has NEVER been advertised as a place to get notes. It's always been marketed as a forum for discussion. There is nothing that implies otherwise unless you want to take BearNOTES.com literally. However aren't notes also messages?

Third: The people posting all the time are moderators BECAUSE they post all the time and are active and involved in our online community. They've done a pretty good job at helping me (and Sam before me, as I have not assigned anyone new), maintain the order on these boards. There are still many posters who are not moderators.

Fourth: The moderator you mention did not delete his post. I did on accident. If you'll recall we had a certain individual that decided to have a little fun posting improper material in various places. Dave's post happened to be mixed in the bunch through no fault of his own, and I accidentally deleted it.

Yeah, don't sweat it, I'm not worried. Post away, I can defend myself against anything you wanna throw.

And by the way, I don't particularly care how many people post here. We run the board as a service and as a channel for free speech, not a freak-show.

Just understand that if you take any position that sounds weak, or unsubstantiated, then I will call you on it, so don't be whiny, and don't be petty, just defend your position, that's all.

Well, I do want people to post, but I'm not going to censor opinions and hold everyone's hands so that nobody ever gets upset at anything on here! The part about "as a service and a channel for free speech. . . " is dead on though. We don't believe in censorship (other than for legalities and other extreme situations) - and that is WHY this board is not run by the university.

Probably not quite as I would have said it - but the point is still accurate. Just like in real life!

In the end, it's just a joke - take it for what it is. Liberals make fun of Conservatives, and Conservatives make fun of liberals. Ford owners and Chevy owners, Comp Sci vs. Comp. Info. Sys., Pagens and Christians, etc.

We all make make fun of each other - but we all do our own things. A balance is always needed in everything, and that is why every coin has two sides. And that is why George and the Eagle are constantly making fun of each other
