Manipulative
He lied to your face,
she was a thing of the past.
But you found out the truth,
it ripped your heart from your chest.
You refused to believe it,
how could he do this?
But he phoned and admitted,
cried and made excuses.
He compared his situation
to things you've done in the past,
but you were single and honest,
never manipulating one heart.
Yet he failed to see the difference,
in how he lied to you from the start.
He told you he wanted you,
but he kept on f***ing her.
He told you he loved you,
but he kept on dating her.
He told you he would end it,
but you still sit waiting
for the man that will never be
worthy of your love.
I wrote this in class the other day just to get it off my mind. I'm not a professional poet, which is probably apparent. Please feel free to offer suggestions and critiques. I'd like to improve it, but unfortunately I can't really show it to anyone I know.[/i][/b]

Wow, emotionally powerful stuff! It might flow better if the lines ryhmed every other one, but it doesn't matter a whole lot. Besides, heartfelt poetry is always the best. Good therapy too. I write poetry when I'm very sad or very happy. My poems don't usually rhyme. Too bad you can't share it with anyone you know.
