DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?

Post by Chreteau »

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?

What did Kerry place on the podium?

Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.

[A tight zoom analysis of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious item his jacket [14 seconds into video, after commerical]. Kerry appears to unfold some sort of paper seconds later, at his podium.]

A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.

"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."

When pressed on the fact that even brandishing a pen from his jacket would have violated debate rules, the Kerry staffer laughed, adding, "See you at the inauguration, Drudge".

He needs 40 lashes with a wet noodle for cheating.

It was a pen. I'll find the video if you want.

Apparently the Drudge Report has a different view on the video than you do.

So of course they're right. I think it's great that you'll blindly throw something like this at Kerry instead of looking at the issues. He didn't cheat. He didn't need to cheat. The way you blindly support Bush disgusts me. Be objective for a minute, man.

You're right. The 500+ pages I read every day of transcripts, press releases, campaign agreements, laws, news, intelligence reports, commentaries, etc., I'm completely blind.

I'm calling that one. You're full of it. The average person reads 200 WPM, which would probably be less if you're reading technical jargon and tons of fluffer. If there were only 200 words per page, which probably isn't likely, there would be 8 hours of reading. Every day. You don't have enough time. Sorry.

Regardless, that wasn't my point. My point was that you were quick to accuse Kerry of something that really had no factual basis, just to make Bush look better. If you're going to slander someone, at least do it in a way that can be proven AND is viable.

You seem to have a habit of assuming things. You assume you know my schedule, you assume you know how fast I read, you assume the motivation behind my posts. I don't need to prove anything to you, and if you're going to resort to insults rather than debating the topic, then this conversation is over.

Your schedule? You're going back to college for your second degree. So, you have class. The average person reads at 200 wpm and that's not comprehending it all. If you read a little faster, then great, the point was, you were lying. And the motivation is always fairly evident in your political posts, "Kerry is the devil. I'm voting Bush. Kerry is evil. I <3 Bush."

I didn't insult you, I pointed out what was wrong. If I wanted to insult you, I would flip out and start swearing like you did in this post. Don't pretend that you have the upper hand in this. You're copping out in this little debate, and now you're trying to say that I'm not debating? No. You're copping out. Don't post stuff like this if you can't back it up. It's convenient how you dropped the whole point when you copped out, too. Kerry wasn't cheating, he's just a better speaker.

This is so pathetic it's hard to comment. Anyone arguing that pulling a pen out of one's jacket is a legitimate accusation is a fucking moron.
